In 1997, Mr. Cheong founded the "SL Pumps Fabrication Workshop" in Kuala Lumpur. At its inception, the workshop had only one unit of machining machine, indicating that it started on a small scale. However, over time, the workshop expanded and evolved into a prominent water pumps manufacturer.

In 2003, the "SL Pumps Fabrication Workshop" took a significant step forward and expanded its operations by transitioning into a full-fledged factory. This expansion allowed the company to produce and machine water pumps, catering to the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) market. With this move, the company was able to increase its production capacity and meet the growing demand for its products.

After 20 years of successful operation in the OEM market, by setting up a new company named SLC Pumps (M) Sdn Bhd in 2020,we took a new strategic direction by establishing a joint venture  branding with CP Taiwan which founded by Mr. Yang Chun-Lai since 1961, a well known self priming pump manufacturer in Taiwan. This joint venture brand was named "CPSLC Pumps," signifying the collaboration between two companies, mainly foucs on self priming pumps.

The primary market that our company targeted was the drainage, irrigation, flood control, and waterworks sector. By specializing in custom-made pumps, we able to cater to the specific needs of various projects and applications within these industries.
